trouble changing oil

Happy new year everybody,

I tried to change oil on my 96 Savage, but no oil after removing drain plug !

I tried activating the starter motor (ignition turned off) and oil poured then stopped !

I managed to drain the majority of oil but not all.

Thanks for any piece of advice.
